Mrs. Anna Mary Degen, widow of the late Philip Degen, died yesterday at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Charles J. Menn, 1133 1/2 North Fifth street. Death was due to pneumonia. Mrs. Degen had been confined to her home about three weeks.
Mrs. Degen was born at Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, 70 years ago. She had made her home in Quincy for the past forty years.
One brother, Edmund Heinz, four nephews, and three nieces survive.
Her husband was Philip Degen, the cigar manufacturer, who died about three years ago.
Mrs. Degen was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic church, and was a woman whose circle of true friends was large. She will be sincerely mourned. [8]
